Isekai: Waifu Overlord – Skill Tree Guide

Skill Tree

The Skill Tree is directly tied to the Village economy, so understanding both together is recommended.

A better economy directly translates into better PvP results because it provides access to a better Anvil. For this reason, Skill Books should be allocated toward the economy.

The attached skill book cost chart shows the cost of each skill level. The raw spreadsheet at the top also shows the value per level for some skills from level 1 to the maximum level of 25.

The main inflection point, where the return on investment becomes too low, is level 13 for most, if not all, skills.

As of patches 2.24 and 2.25, the Girl tree does not work and is weak. The General tree improves gear, but improving weak gear has little value. The Pet tree is good, but becomes more valuable once you have some leveled pets.

For these reasons, the recommended starting tree is the Building tree.

Building Tree

Follow the progression shown in the chart. The inflection point is level 13, so avoid going beyond level 13 before obtaining all three of the first recommended skills.

Recommended Priority

  1. Investment
  2. Quick Rabbit
  3. Comprehensive Approach

If you read the Village economy guide, three of the six best buildings are Finance buildings, with two being Production and one being Finance. Because of this, Investment is the best skill to obtain first.

Unlike the other skills, these three skills that improve building-type bonuses provide increasingly larger bonuses per level, although they still provide less value per Skill Book.

Quick Rabbit and Comprehensive Approach have high priority because they affect all buildings.

Both building cooldown and building cost reductions follow the diminishing returns formula:

result = base / (1 + bonus%)

The more points you invest, the less you gain from each additional point.

Dividend

Dividend is also a strong skill to consider because the Lab is a top-tier building, while the Forge can also be highly valuable. The Forge is the best building from time to time before reaching the “300 wall.”

By the time the first part of the progression is completed, you should have a better understanding of the game and decent pets. At that point, move on to the Pet tree.

Pet Tree

Pet tree skills should be leveled evenly according to their relative value.

Generic and Specific Talents

The talents circled in red in the chart are generic talents. The lower generic talent provides more value at the same level.

However, you can only have three pets in your best building, so the generic talents have only three times their listed value in actual use.

For example, if a specific talent provides +5% while a generic talent provides only +1%, increasing the specific talent is better because the specific talent provides more value for the pets it affects.

Choosing Specific Pet Talents

Which specific Pet talent to focus on depends on your highest-level Legendary pets.

Focus on the specific talent associated with your highest-level Legendary pets.
