Metal Slug: Awakening – How to Clear the Maze for Amazing Vehicles

Strategy to Swiftly Conquer The Maze

By FatyRat.

Vehicles with high firepower can significantly enhance your adventures. I’m sure you’ve already witnessed the power of the brand-new SV-Camel. But have you ever wondered how to obtain other vehicles?

Well, besides the 7-Day Check-in event that grants rookies the SV-001 for free, you can acquire vehicles through The Maze! I’ve devised a strategy to swiftly conquer The Maze and procure vehicles. Shall we begin?

The Maze stands out as one of the most crucial avenues for acquiring free vehicles, boasting unique game mechanics. Within this mode, characters gradually lose HP due to environmental effects on the map, yet they also gain ATS/MSPD buffs and Medkits based on their efficiency in defeating enemies. In essence, mastering the lineup and exercising precise controls are paramount to overcoming this challenge.

Regarding the lineup, I recommend utilizing Firepower Characters alongside two Spec-Ops Characters. For instance, our reliable leader Marco, whose skills offer a significant RoF bonus, aligns perfectly with the ATS buff dynamics within The Maze.

Remember Nadia? She’s the character we receive on the second day of check-in. As the only Spec-Ops & Healer character available to us, Nadia possesses the ability to restore HP through all her skills. This quality makes her an ideal candidate for navigating through The Maze.

After that, we can choose a Support Character that complements Marco and Nadia’s attributes. For instance, Fio would be an excellent option as she can provide ATS bonuses. Since everyone has access to these three characters, there shouldn’t be any issues assembling them into a team.

When it comes to selecting weapons, our primary focus should be on maximizing the DPS of the Firepower Character. For instance, opting for the HMG with a high RoF for Marco would be a strategic choice. Additionally, considering the WEAK Debuff tag of the HMG, assigning the Bazooka with the WOUND Debuff tag to Fio could enhance Marco’s DPS further. Nadia offers flexibility; we can either equip her with a Flamethrower to augment the team’s overall DPS or utilize a Freeze Gun to slow down enemies.

Now that our team is assembled and armed, it’s time to dive into the game.

Upon entering the game, we’ll immediately notice the high-temperature environment, causing us to gradually lose HP even while stationary. Therefore, it’s crucial to continuously engage enemies with gunfire.

Throughout the gameplay, enemies will emerge both on the ground and on platforms, attacking from various angles. Consequently, swift movement is essential to evade getting cornered. If our HP dwindles below 50%, switching to Nadia and utilizing her restorative skills becomes imperative. Additionally, targeting elite enemies marked with a Medkit logo above their heads allows us to obtain Medkits, which can be employed to replenish the HP of all team members.

Attention! Here’s the crucial strategy:

Prioritize eliminating these elite enemies at the onset of the challenge. Subsequently, promptly utilize the Medkit you possess and collect those dropped by the defeated elites. This approach ensures the maintenance of your team’s HP at an optimal level. Amidst the adrenaline-fueled chaos of combat, it’s easy to overlook the importance of the Medkits, potentially jeopardizing your characters and impeding your progress.

I understand that some Commanders might express concern, saying: But Rumi, the elite enemies are formidable opponents.

However, fear not! My second tip comes to the rescue. While it’s true that elite enemies in The Maze pose a formidable challenge, there’s a clever tactic to weaken them. Keep a close eye on the energy gauge located in the top-left corner!

As we progress through The Maze, we’ll receive buffs that gradually enhance our ATS and MSPD, accumulating energy in the process. Once the energy gauge reaches its capacity, we’ll trigger the Rampage Moment. During this phase, MSPD and ATS receive a significant temporary boost, and ammunition costs are disregarded. Hence, by focusing on attacking minions to accumulate energy, we can enter the Rampage Moment. Utilizing this window, we can effortlessly dispatch elite enemies, making their defeat a much simpler task!

Here’s an important reminder! While Medkits restore HP to all team members, there may be intervals without encountering elite enemies. Hence, it’s vital to frequently switch between characters to distribute environmental damage among them. This tactic maximizes the effectiveness of the Medkit, ensuring optimal HP restoration for the entire team.

With the aforementioned tips in mind, I’m confident you’ll swiftly reach the final Boss at the stage’s conclusion!

During the Boss fight, there won’t be any elite enemies dropping HP packs. Instead, the Boss will drop them based on the HP they lose. Hence, maintaining a relentless assault is crucial. Skillfully switch between characters, utilizing their abilities frequently, and summon your vehicle to unleash devastating damage within a short timeframe. By following this sequence of attacks, victory against any Boss is assuredly within reach.

Here’s a bonus tip for you: Once you enter the Vehicle, your Characters will cease losing HP. Hence, don’t forget to summon your vehicle during the Boss fight to amplify your DPS. This not only enhances your team’s survival but also prolongs their effectiveness in battle.

After defeating the Boss, it’s time for the exhilarating chest-opening moment! Utilize the keys dropped by the elite enemies and the defeated Boss without hesitation. Metal Express and Drill Slug await just ahead! Go for it!
