Pacific Drive – Junction Conditions Guide

The goal of this guide is to explain what all the Junction Conditions are and what they meant.

Anchor Obfuscation

Increased magnetic interference means that Anchor signatures in this part of the Zone are indistinct. It will be harder to precisely locate them.

Angry Abductors

The Abductors in this part of the Zone are particularly aggressive, and much more active in their pursuit.

Anomalous Clouds

Unpredictable weather patterns in this part of the Zone means more cloud-related hazards will manifest at ground level.

Curious Fragility

The Remnant seems to become more brittle in this part of the Zone, meaning that collisions suffered will cause much more damage.

Disruptive Discharge

The electrical discharges detected in this part of the Zone can damage and disrupt batteries, draining your power reserves.

Heavy Fog

The thick, low-lying fog in this part of the Zone never seems to lift.

Malfunctioning Mess

High levels of magnetic interference, combined with broad spectrum atmospheric Anomalies, mean that things are constantly going haywire in this part of the Zone.

Perpetual Stability

The Instability Storm will not be chasing you here unless summoned.

Something’s Moving…

This part of the Zone definitely seems to have something creeping out there amongst the trees…

There will be a lot of Tourists appearing more frequently within wooded areas.

Spark Surge

Spark Towers in this part of the Zone are overcharged, making them even more dangerous.

Swift Storm

Storm activity in this part of the Zone is remarkably rapid. After it manifests it will close in much faster than usual.

The Warrens

Bunny Anomalies run rampant in this part of the Zone.

Underground Mischief

Certain burrowing Anomalies are even more aggressive in this part of the Zone.

Violent Voltage

The electrical discharges detected in this part of the Zone are at a much higher voltage, which means they will arc past car defenses with ease.

FAQ

How long extreme conditions in juction takes to fade away?

Extreme conditions in junctions reroll every time you return to the garage, win or lose. You can get a reroll function that uses a scan charge to reroll the junction in hopes it’s more agreeable but otherwise they are there until you go out in your car and come back.

The extreme conditions aren’t usually too bad though, just don’t scavenge that zone and go for the transfer point.

What is junction bypass?

Junction bypass lets you skip using the highways, so you can jump straight to D1 or B1 and go from there. The marshes are around the C5 area, though it looks like you can take the route off of D2 and just blitz through the storm areas if you don’t like doing those.

When you get bypass, it lets you spend scanner charges to ‘reroll’ a node. You can get rid of storms, or get a better resource distribution.

Do conditions in place change between runs?

Yep, everything beyond the general layout and “biome” changes.

Btw, if I’m not mistaken, Immediate Storm doesn’t mean that it’ll start closing in as soon as you enter the junction, but rather that it moves in very fast when you summon it. So if you’re just passing through without collecting orbs, it shouldn’t be an issue. Check the log, the special conditions do have clear descriptions (less cryptic than the anomalies, at least).

But you can also take another trip first and then re-scan the junction to see if it’s better.

At some point you can unlock an upgrade that let’s you “reroll” junctions. Haven’t used it yet, but seems useful.

    • found it. Touch and go says: This part of the zone is full of anomalies known for suddenly accelerating vehicles that they touch

  1. Malfunctioning Mess: The chance of a car part gaining a negative condition (burnt out lights, blown tires, etc). is increased. Old parts that have been through a few runs will be more prone to this, so swapping in newer parts can help reduce the risk but won’t completely remove it. Remember to bring repair kits.

Swift Storm: Causes the storm from instability or a Gateway summoning to close in about 50% faster than normal. Also seems to appear mostly in highly unstable junctions, or possibly this causes the instability. It’s best to avoid these if you can.

  2. Angry Abductors: Abductors will pursue targets farther and the cooldown time between their attempts to grab things is reduced. Not much you can do but try to keep your distance, this gets really annoying if more than one gets focused on you.

Anchor Obfuscation: Several false signals to fade in and out around an Anchor’s location on your ARC map, which makes locating them extremely difficult. An Anchor Radar can help narrow down your search, but it’s still not exact.

  3. turncoat basically haunts your car and it will drive away on you if you get out, its awful
