Ragnarok: The New World – Newbie Guide to the Druid Class

Druid Class Guide (Lv.1–69)

The Druid is one of the most versatile classes in Ragnarok: The New World, offering three distinct playstyles that can be switched without changing classes.

  • Werewolf – Melee Physical DPS with self-healing and disruption.
  • Wereraptor – Mobile Ranged Physical DPS focused on Attack Frequency.
  • Arcanist – AoE Magic DPS specializing in elemental spell combinations.

After completing the required quests, Druids unlock their second-job progression, gaining powerful new skills for each specialization.

Werewolf

The Werewolf is a melee damage dealer with excellent sustain through self-healing and powerful debuffs. It performs well in PvE while serving as a disruptor during large-scale PvP.

Recommended Stats

Prioritize:

  • STR
  • VIT

A common setup is:

  • 100 STR
  • Remaining points into VIT

Since free stat resets are available, feel free to adjust your distribution based on your preferred balance between damage and survivability.

Recommended Skills

First Job

  • Transform: Werewolf
  • Savage Bite
  • Ravenous

Second Job

  • Vile Claw Strike
  • Shred
  • Shadow Night Hunter
  • Nature’s Vigor

Skill Tips

Instead of maxing Merciless Claw, consider investing those points into Nature’s Truth.

Merciless Claw becomes obsolete after unlocking Shred, while Nature’s Truth permanently increases your damage whenever using Water, Wind, or Earth elemental converters.

For second-job progression, prioritize maxing your damage skills before investing into Nature’s Vigor. The regeneration from low-level Nature’s Vigor is minimal, while food and potions provide sufficient sustain during leveling.

Recommended Special Skills

Prioritize the following:

Lacerate

Applies Bleeding to enemies.

Bleeding damage scales from Shred’s damage, making it the core offensive Special Skill.

Bloodtrail Tracking

Increases damage dealt to Bleeding targets.

Works directly with Lacerate for higher sustained damage.

Darkest Night

Increases damage dealt to enemies affected by Shadow Night Hunter.

Alternative Option

Kinetic Energy, normally associated with Wereraptor, also works well on Werewolf and can replace Darkest Night depending on your preferred playstyle.

Aim for Purple Quality Lv.3 Special Skills before Lv.70. There is little value in heavily investing into Orange quality skills before changing equipment later in progression.

Gameplay

PvE

Enable auto-casting for:

  • Ravenous
  • Shred

Ravenous restores 10% of your Max HP, allowing continuous farming while Shred provides your primary AoE damage.

If incoming damage is low, Ravenous can be disabled and replaced with a shielding pet such as Garm Baby to maintain uninterrupted Shred uptime.

PvP

Werewolf performs best as a disruptor rather than a frontline damage dealer.

Recommended engagement:

  1. Dive in with Savage Bite.
  2. Place Shadow Night Hunter.
  3. Retreat immediately using Vile Claw Strike.

Avoid channeling Shred in the middle of large battles.

Instead, use Shred primarily against structures and objectives during Guild War, where it provides significantly more value.

Wereraptor

Wereraptor is a highly mobile ranged physical attacker capable of attacking and casting skills while moving. It specializes in maintaining distance while continuously dealing damage.

Recommended Stats

Prioritize AGI.

Current testing indicates Attack Frequency contributes more to overall damage than investing heavily into STR or DEX.

Aim for:

  • Minimum 3.0 Attack Frequency
  • Approximately 104 total AGI before equipment bonuses

Attack Frequency can be increased further through:

  • Gale Set
  • Bison Horn accessories

Recommended Skills

First Job

  • Transform: Wereraptor
  • Low-Altitude Flight

Second Job

  • Sharp Whirlwind
  • Hurricane Wings
  • Wind Veil
  • Nature’s Vigor

Skill Tips

Like the Werewolf build, investing five points into Nature’s Truth instead of Bird Feather Shot provides a permanent damage increase when using Water, Wind, or Earth elemental converters.

Recommended Special Skills

Kinetic Energy

Increases damage while moving.

Sharp Feather

Boosts Sharp Whirlwind damage.

Feather Blade

Allows Sharp Whirlwind to trigger two additional hits.

As with the Werewolf build, Purple Quality Lv.3 Special Skills are sufficient until Lv.70.

Gameplay

Maintain at least 3 Attack Frequency whenever possible.

One of Wereraptor’s greatest strengths is the ability to attack while constantly repositioning, making it difficult for enemies to catch you.

If your character frequently attacks unintended targets, enable Enemy Lock Indicator Line in the Battle settings. This clearly displays your current target and helps avoid accidentally attacking enemies in the backline.

Arcanist

The Arcanist is the Druid’s magic specialization, combining Earth, Frost, Storm, and Neutral damage into powerful area attacks.

Unlike most magic builds, Arcanist values cast speed just as highly as Magic Attack because several Kanos skills activate based on the number of spells cast.

Recommended Stats

Prioritize:

  1. DEX
  2. INT

Increase DEX until your Variable Cast Time is sufficiently reduced.

Once your casting speed is comfortable, invest remaining points into INT.

Additional cast speed can be obtained through:

  • Priest’s Suffragium
  • Squidgitte

Squidgitte reduces Variable Cast Time by:

  • 40% in base form
  • Up to 50% at Tier 6

With these bonuses available, more stat points can safely be invested into INT.

Recommended Skills

First Job

Max all first-job Arcanist skills.

Second Job

Priority:

  • Force of Nature
  • Glacier Monolith
  • Nature’s Vigor

The remaining skills can be leveled afterward depending on your preferred stacking mechanics.

Force of Nature

Force of Nature is the core skill of the build.

Although it counts as:

  • Frost
  • Storm
  • Earth

its default damage element is Neutral.

Using elemental converters changes the damage element of Force of Nature, allowing it to exploit enemy weaknesses while simultaneously activating Frost, Storm, and Earth stacking mechanics.

Recommended Special Skills

Earth Mastery

Has a chance to deal additional damage.

Majestic Glacier

Increases Glacier Monolith’s size and grants Chill, further increasing Frost damage inside its area.

Surge Current

Provides a temporary damage bonus to Storm skills after activation.

Aim for Purple Quality Lv.3 versions of all three.

Duplicate copies of the same Special Skill do not stack.

Gameplay

The standard rotation is straightforward:

  1. Cast Glacier Monolith beneath the target.
  2. Spam Force of Nature.

Each cast of Force of Nature contributes toward activating:

  • Glacier Monolith
  • Overload
  • Earthen Sprout

Since these skills react to the number of spells cast, faster casting directly translates into higher DPS.

For specialized builds, first-job elemental spells can also be mixed into the rotation to accelerate specific elemental stacks, although most players simply rely on repeatedly casting Force of Nature.

Once enough Growth stacks have been accumulated, Earthen Sprout delivers the highest raw damage multiplier, reaching 6000% Earth Bloom Damage.

General Tips

  • Purple Quality Lv.3 Special Skills are generally sufficient before Lv.70 since equipment progression changes significantly afterward.
  • Water, Wind, and Earth elemental converters synergize particularly well with Nature’s Truth on both Werewolf and Wereraptor.
  • Free stat resets allow experimentation with different builds and stat distributions.
  • Every Druid specialization excels in PvE while filling a different role in PvP:
  • Werewolf: Melee disruptor with sustain.
  • Wereraptor: Mobile ranged DPS.
  • Arcanist: AoE magic burst and area control.
  • Druids also gain access to Nature’s Sanctuary, a powerful group healing Ultimate that restores Max HP to nearby allies, further increasing the class’s overall versatility.
