Gas Grenades
A decent amount if you can, I pack about five. You can pretty much make everybody in the room give up, the room is close quarters so if you want to toss it in then you can typically open the door from the side, bounce the grenade off the door, and catch it.
Mirror Gun
A shield is great but knowledge is power, this thing will let you scan each room and make the best judge of what you want to do. If somebody is near the door? A C2 charge can knock them flat, or you can pre-emptively drop a CS grenade at the base of the door and open it to get them coughing to ensure a secure close entry. Additionally, this lets you see wires on the door to see if it’s trapped, or just check the sides of the door for the IED in question.
Door Wedge
As suggested, you can lock down most rooms you don’t feel like approaching. This can trap your suspects in and prevent you from getting flanked while checking other rooms. You can also wedge one of the two entry points to the conjoined rooms you are breaching so that they can’t leave the adjacent room and get behind you for another attempt at flanking while you are clearing said rooms.
Armor
They’re packing assault rifles, don’t bother with Kevlar. Choose between Ceramic and Steel, make sure you have at least front and back coverage as there are a lot of angles to be flanked from and an assault rifle round will tear you down unprotected.
Weaponry
Whatever gun you choose, bring AP. Every one of them has body armor on this one, and rooms are open enough with a distinct difference between enemy and civilian that you shouldn’t have to be worried about sweeping a Civ or overpenning into a cluster of others.
Taking an SMG is an option, the map isn’t exactly claustrophobic but there is a case to be made for using an SMG. I’d say personal preference and take whatever you’d like. Obviously if you’re taking a shotgun, be sure to take a semi-auto as I see no difference between the pump and semi beyond recoil management.
For lethal I always take the SLR47 since it’s a shorter barreled 7.62 rifle with a decent rate of fire, the iron sights are also simple and make close quarters shooting pretty good. Using an optic like a red dot will take up more of your screen space than simple iron sights, so I’d suggest using iron sights that you’re comfortable with if you’re in such a close range, could also be personal preference there too.
