The Riddle
You find a note shoved in a crevasse of a teleporter
“If you are reading this, that means you are the next in the series. Right when the rain began, the old and wise hid an item for the future, an energy device. Hidden at the edge of the world, it would be safe from the monsters that were overrunning the planet. Their hope: a survivor with this knowledge would find it and bring it to the golems for safekeeping until the storm picked up. When it does, it is foretold that yet another survivor will come along. They are to find the item in a sea of stars or shrooms, and two hours before midnight, and no later then one, deliver it to the core or the hive, where their target would take the survivor’s sacrifice across the finish line.”

The part when it says to deliver it to the core or the hive can be misinterpreted, the verb “deliver” especially.
