Gameplay Tips for Rogue PVP
By Caesar.
Rogue is both the easiest and hardest class to play, and to be honest is as close to useless as you can get in a team fight-the best way to teamfight with rogue is by having only rogues in your team and isolating 1v1s, but really you should only play solo as rogue if you want to win.
Next important bit of info-if you see a cryomancer or a deathknight the best play is not engaging or, disengaging should they engage you.
So, here’s how you fight every class other than those two…
Before fighting make sure you have petrify and quick stealth:
- Step One: Petrify headshot with crossbow.
- Step Two: Based on distance from target either reload and pop stealth just before the petrify wears off to get another big chunk of damage potentially killing under geared players, or position yourself behind them and pop stealth for a crit damage bonus on your backstab and finish them off with m1 spam.
These two steps will deal with everything other than the undead classes and fighter, for fighter the start is similar but later steps are more complex:
- Step One: Petrify headshot with crossbow.
- Step Two: Reload and pop stealth as petrify ends and get another headshot-unless the fighter has used their dash recently enough that you know it is still on cooldown, or you know they are using inspire, then go for the back stab.
- Step Three: Whether they have their q or not the best choice at this point is to create space either by using quick stealth to run or a thunderclap to slow them before shooting them with your crossbow a third time.
- Step Four: If the fighter was smart enough to heal between you tickling them with your crossbow you should either loop steps one through three until they give up on chasing you or start running from you.
- Step Five: If they run it’s up to you what to do at this point but your best course of action is likely disengaging unless you are certain they are out of heals, then loop steps 1-3 but instead of creating space focus on gap closing with your speed boost from stealth.
I hope this was helpful to you!
