Tips for First Playthrough
General Strategy
My personal preference is to unlock as many achievements as possible. The achievements will in return allows you to create a better/stronger character. There’s some game exploits:
- Choose the highest possible difficulty setting for first play through. Skip both thief and constable lady, just exit the map. Go to the temple and sleep your way to Day 101. Doing this will unlock quite a number of achievements.
- Max out any ONE stat (except Str) to 10 points during character creation. Choose all the blue traits which further improve the same stat to 14 points. On the morning of Day 2, enter the crossroad. Choose the following: option 1 = Con, option 2 = Wis, option 3 = Str, option 4 = Luck, option 5 = Agi. Getting ONE stat to 15 points will unlock an achievement. Repeat for the remaining stat except Str (as it requires more work).
You don’t get lock out from any of them if you choose either. In fact, you can ditch both by exiting the map, or kill both to get extra traits.
The old man sect is meant as a tutorial for new players. It used to give the best fist skill in game. There’s going to be a lot of grinding, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing.
A play through depends on your character. My longest save file is about 53+ hours (350+ days in game).
Crossroad Explained
All locations are hidden from you at the start and there are numerous ways to unlock them. For crossroad, you can:
- Keep talking with the dude standing in front of the inn in Nameless Village, this is purely RNG, he will mention about crossroad and the location will be unlocked for you.
- Alternatively, you should be able to faintly see a crossroad on the map (North West), walk towards it and you will unlock the location once you get near enough.
