No Man’s Sky – How to Leave the Galaxy Fast and Effectively

Tips to Effectively Leave the Galaxy

How to Do It Fast

For anyone wanting to leave your Galaxy fast all you have to do is progress artemis quest to the point where you get your Jellyfish (number 1) glyph. Use a scanner to find an alien structure and access read it all then access again and chose to find a portal nearby . Once your at the portal just type in that jellyfish as many times as you can and that portal will take you close to the galactic center . from there just follow the path to the core or center on the map and we get ready to go to a new galaxy! This works on all galaxies and its the fastest way to switch your galaxy when you get tired of it.

You don’t even need to earn a glyph towards the end of the Artemis path – you can also talk to travelers to get a pointer for finding a glyph.

Concerning the differences between galaxies

I like to see them as just alternate random seeds for the procedural world generation, where the galaxy color slightly alters the composition of yellow star systems.

Good clue to warp with the freighter. Though, the only repair you need otherwise for the ship is the hyperdrive (since the ability to launch is self-healing via gates.

Galaxy Jump’ Damage

All you current/primary tech (suit, ship, multitool) takes damage during the galaxy jump. All tech slots will need to be repaired. Not the cargo inventory, just the tech slots and you won’t lose anything.

So right before the jump switch your ship and your multitool to something simple, or even prepare throwaway ship and tool that you will scrap after the jump. Otherwise, the repairs will be very expensive and time consuming. Some may require exotic materials to repair so it will be a while until you can fix it all. Your other ships and tools won’t get damaged.

This way, after the jump you will only have your suit slots to repair. You will be able to switch back to your normal ship and tool and you can repair the broken ones later or just scrap them. If you don’t do this, you may be stuck worse than in the beginning of the game.

So, stock up on most materials too for suit repairs, wire looms and repair kits (you can’t craft these, right?) as the suit damage is unavoidable or store your non-crucial tech modules. If they’re stored in cargo slots, they won’t take damage. Then reinstall them into tech slots.

You will be able to summon your freighter after a galaxy jump, it won’t take any damage.

If you have a hyperdrive installed in your freighter, you can make the galactic jump that way. The freighter doesn’t take damage (at least when I did a seven galaxy hop awhile back), but your primary ship/MT/suit will. I stored suit tech away before starting this, and kept a junker ship and MT ready. All I had to do was use my good ship and MT up until I was in the jump system, then switch to my junkers right before the jump. Then switch back. No need to repair the ship or MT when using the freighter. I did a this in one day by doing it with this method; minimal need for repairs.
