Sky: Children of the Light – Diving Guide

If you have problems with diving then this guide is for you.

How to Dive

Сrеdit gоеs to Meowish!

Actually had to go for a swim myself to refresh my memory on this one…

So here goes.

Flight/Glide toggle = Dive/Surface toggle (R1, Tab, RMB).

Click once to dive (only works if your character is “floating” in the water, will not work on shallow water), click the toggle button again to surface (your character will swim right up to the surface if you are underwater).

Once dive mode is turned on, your character will sink and swims down.

The character will swim according to your camera angle, so if you want to swim down, look down, if you want to swim up, look up.

  • W = Forward (Swims away from the camera).
  • Space = Boost forward but uses wing Energy.
  • S = Swims toward the camera.
  • A/D = Swims side ways.

If you run out of air and wished to surface fast, toggle the surface button and the character will swim directly upward, you can use space to boost the speed here. Be aware not to use this in buildings with a ceiling or your character might be trapped there (bug).

For deep ocean diving, you can recharge your oxygen by getting near any of the light creatures or light plants.

Make sure you take good care of your oxygen bar, if it runs out, you may lost some of your wing lights.

You can use the Oxygen Mask unlockable from the spirit tree of the Abyss Seasonal Guide (Quest Giver) for 15 seconds more Oxygen.

Additionally

If you are already in flight mode and fly right into the water at full speed, you will start in dive mode inside the water (if it’s deep enough).

Important note

There’s this Oxygen Mask you can grab from the Abyss Seasonal Guide, it gives you 15 more seconds of oxygen when diving.

There’s basically 3 areas that require diving in this game.

  1. Season of Abyss – Almost the whole area is diving zone.
  2. Season of Moment – Probably the 1st diving area most user encounter, it’s a short dive but the camera can play tricks making it hard when going into the tunnel.
  3. Season of Nine Colored Deer – This one is for candles collecting, but the tunnel has a bad design that might make your character stuck underwater and drown, be well aware of that.

Hope this helps!
