Soulstone Survivors – How to Get the Desired Active Skills (with Skill Affinity/Skill Mastery)

Some of you may already know this.

Tips to Get the Desired Active Skills

Сrеdit gоеs to Linearch!

You can get active skills you want (mostly) with Skill Affinity. Skill Affinity ensures that you will be offered first active skill of a certain type if available. The important part here is that it is still in effect when you reroll and banish. So you just need to know the most niche tag of your core skill, equip the Skill Affinity rune, reroll, and lock if you need more than one. If you need two and one has appeared, it may be worth it to banish instead of reroll.

Here are some examples:

  • Getting Firestorm and Fiery Blades on Pyromancer

They are both Fire Swing skills. Normally, Fiery Blades is not within your pool of skills. First you need to add it to your pool of skills by using Fire Skill Mastery. Don’t use Swing Skill Mastery because you’ll be cluttering your skill pool with Swing skills you don’t want and also make them harder to get even with Affinity. Next, get Swing Skill Affinity. You’ll get both Firestorm and Fiery Blade on your first active skill offering. You can lock the Firestorm and get Fiery Blade.

  • Getting Thunder Clap and Thunder Strike on Arcane Weaver

They’re both already in your skill pool, but they have different other tag (magical area vs physical frontal slam). You just need to get Lightning Skill Affinity, but this doesn’t ensure you’ll get them on first roll. So you need to reroll or banish until they both come. Or yeah you can just restart the run. Lock one and get one.

  • Getting Arcane Assault and Radiant Light on Arcane Weaver

They’re not in your skill pool yet, so you need Arcane Skill Mastery, with same reasoning as case number 1 (Fiery Blades on Pyro). Next, they’re both of type Thrust, so get Thrust Skill Affinity. You’ll get them both on your first skill offering.

  • Getting Bloodlust on Arcane Weaver

It’s just like case number 2 (Thunder on Weaver). Chaos Skill Affinity and reroll.

  • Getting both Thunder skills and Bloodlust on Arcane Weaver

The skill affinities “stack”. Get both Lightining Skill Affinity and Chaos Skill Affinity. If you get Chaos on the first active skill offering, the next one will be the Lightning Skill Affinity, and vice versa.

  • Building Beam on Elementalist

The skills are already in your skill pool. Get Holy Skill Affinity and reroll for Light Beam. You might also get Might if you want to (I usually don’t). Next, get Arcane Skill Inclination to get Arcane Beam, Arcane Missile, and Arcane Power quickly. However, if those three Arcane skills are all you need from Arcane (specially if less), you can just use Arcane Skill Affinity instead of Inclination and keep rerolling or banishing.

It’s a shame that we don’t have Empowering, Lasting, and Summon Skill runes.
