Tyr – Fortis “Bulwark” Build Guide

Fortis “Bulwark” Build

The “Bulwark” build uses Momentum Shells, Quick Slot, and Energy/Ability techs, with several slots that can be adjusted depending on the desired playstyle.

Build Choices

Momentum Shells

Momentum Shells were chosen as an extra shell during testing and proved useful on some maps where a brawl can turn into a sniping engagement afterward.

The 30% bonus is particularly potent with Fortis’ 315-damage shells, with a tradeoff of only 100 m/s less projectile speed.

Tertiary Shells Tech can be taken by replacing a Gun Depression tech. However, this is not recommended unless you run Energy, Siphon, or Lightweight. Momentum Shells provide useful additional damage.

Quick Slot

Quick Slot is a decent tech on Fortis. It reduces the 11.5-second reload to just under 10 seconds.

It can potentially be replaced with:

  • Redirector Gear for mobility
  • Overflow Shunt for additional damage

The choice depends on whether you would rather get more shells on target, brawl better, or get even more damage.

Energy and Ability Techs

Energy and Ability techs are used to have mines available from the start. The Cost tech is preferred over the component.

These techs can instead be changed to:

  • Hard Surface Speed
  • Tertiary Shells
  • Hull Rotation Speed

However, better access to mines allows you to control and recover from poor brawl situations more effectively.

Calibration

Fortis is the calibration choice. It also helps significantly with Gargantuan Shells.

Micro Plating vs. Quick Slot

Micro Plating is not considered worthwhile for this build. It would be more appealing if Fortis had a fuel tank instead of an engine module.

Adaptive Hardening is significantly better against most tanks, although using both options is good for maximum survivability.
