Demolisher Cannon Fortis

The Demolisher Cannon Fortis build focuses on accurate fire, defensive positioning, and punishing enemies from protected angles. It works best when you stay near your team, establish a strong defensive position, and avoid being caught in the open.

Playstyle

Find a good off-angle and play back on your team, punishing enemies whenever they peek. Get into a good forward position and turtle up, holding the position rather than unnecessarily pushing forward.

Talent Tree

The build focuses heavily on gun accuracy. This helps counter enemy heavy tanks and allows for swinging snap shots.

Damage talents are normally avoided, but taking damage can be worthwhile if it allows you to hit for 400+ more often.

Do not overlook reverse speed. Pairing the build with the Sensitive Speed component, which provides +4.5 reverse speed, makes it possible to peek and shoot effectively.

Positioning and Map Strategy

Avoid open areas

Do not get caught in the open. This is the most important rule for Fortis and heavy tanks in general, and this build is particularly focused on defensive play.

Look for a good bottleneck on the map with very few routes behind you. Positions where a map wall protects one side can be particularly useful, such as:

• The hill on Wind Valley
• Going up the ship side on Fields

Only use open areas when you have light support.

Let the light tanks scout first. This build has little mobility, so you should arrive when you are needed rather than trying to get there first.

Combat Tips

• Switch to high accuracy for long shots.
• Use Garg when you are able to get a precision shot on a heavy, although these opportunities are rare.
• Do not push too close to enemies. Fortis may be desirable at close range, but once you are swarmed and outnumbered, you are basically dead.
• With the module healing component, you can survive surprisingly long against light tanks repeatedly trying to track you. This is especially useful when you are with your team.
• Keep this in mind when peeking, because enemies are very tempted to shoot an exposed track.

Armor and Cover

Fortis has an extremely weak front, so push it up against a rock and sidescrape off the rock.

Mine Placement

Lay mines on an angle where you expect enemies to flank you. Usually, this means placing them on the other side of the rock you are defending. This chokes the bottleneck even further, making it much easier to angle your armor when enemies approach.
