Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Shade Challenge Build

I want to share my personal Shade build. It is most certainly inferior to more meta builds, so this certainly isn’t the place to look if you are looking for max efficiency hence why I’m calling it a challenge build because with skill & practice it can work in any difficulty.

The Build

Configuration Options

  • Trinket: Explosive Ordinance is my personal choice but feel free to use Shrapnel.
  • Trinket: Swap the Crit Chance for Curse Resistance when running Grims.
  • Talent Row 5: Take your pick of the level 25 talents, I personally use Gladerunner.

Some notes and differences from meta

  • The key differences in this build from the Meta is the lack of Javelins (No more Jav Spam).
  • Finesse Hits for THP instead of kills (No more rushing ahead to compete for the elite kills).
  • Hungry Wind instead of Cloak of Pain or Shimmer Strike (Its really fun).

Playstyle

This build plays far more like a DPS Front-liner rather then the classic Jav-Spam with a side of Monster DMG that I always see.

Here are some important tips to remember:

  • Use your ability less like burst damage and more like a activated buff. Instead of using it for CWs and Monsters, use it for hordes and elite groups.
  • Hearing is extremely important while using Hungry Wind, you will have to avoid/push/block attacks that come from every direction while you are passing through enemies to deal your damage. Use parries, pushes, and dodges to keep Blur activating repeatedly during Hungry Wind.
