New Monster Attack Types

Shamblers

All Shamblers: Always die as rotten corpses. Careful of rot stinks.

Assault Shambler

  • Run straight into walls and attack. Like extra dumb breachers.
  • May chase colonists. Bash walls if no people nearby.
  • May appear in one group or several.

Swarm Shambler

  • Can be ignored.
  • Walk from one part of map to another.

Animal Shambler

  • Behave like Shambler swarm.
  • Wander for a few days then leave.

Other New Monsters

Fleshbeast Attack

  • Appear from Pit Burrows.
  • The pits can spawn in any unroofed area.
  • Floor does not matter.
  • No waves of Flesh Beasts from these burrows after initial.
  • Can be filled in after.
  • Several fleshbeasts break into smaller fleshbeasts upon damage.
  • Their splits can be flung about 10 cells away.

Gorehaulk

  • Have spike launch attack at range. Will try to kite your melee fighters.
  • May look terrifying but take surprisingly little damage to kill.

Chimera

  • Like smarter manhunter packs.
  • Can switch from aggressive to passive mode.
  • Much faster in aggressive mode.

Devourer

  • Leap and swallow attack.
  • Slow – use kiting strategy.
  • Can Water emerge.

Sightstealer

Disruptor flares: Short-lived bioferrite beacons which stun psychic creatures and reveal invisible ones – useful for sightstealers and revenants.

  • Pick a doorway and melee block.
  • Throw flares some distance.
  • Be careful of ballooning issue.
  • Dont trigger spike traps
